Brazil’s Santos Basin and the Southwest African Coastal Basin may sit at opposite ends of the exploration lifecycle, but their geology tells a surprisingly similar story.

One is approaching 50 years of drilling. The other remains largely untested. When viewed through their shared Upper Cretaceous Sandstone play, however, these two basins emerge as near-perfect geological conjugates, with comparable reservoir quality and resource potential but sharply different economics.
